The third of the Riders4Riders races took place on Sunday 6th March. The steepest part of the hill and a week of heavy snow made for some interesting riding conditions for the 70 riders who braved the cold.

Aston Hill In-Decent Exposure

Saturday 29th October saw the United Kingdom’s first open night time downhill race take place at Aston Hill. Using the Black Run, riders raced down the dark and slippery course with a variety of professional and not so professional lighting rigs. It was a great event and hopefully won’t be the last at Aston Hill.

NPS Combe Sydenham

The 4th round of the NPS Downhill Series took place at Combe Sydenham in Somerset over the bank holiday weekend. The typical unsettled bank holiday weather didn’t stop the riders from giving it their all. With a bit of sun on race day the Elite men got the best of the conditions and not suprisingly the last two men down the hill took the honours. Dan Atherton being narrowly beaten by his brother Gee. PORC 1st August 2004

Sizzling PORC! The first day of August and we actually had some summer weather. The course at Penshurst may have been short but the steep and very lose middle section caught out quite a few unwary riders who got a dust bath for their troubles.

Dragon Abercarn

A few photos from the Dragon Downhill race over the weekend. Last year Abercarn was host to a round of the NPS, even without national status it still saw a very good turnout. The course was steep, dry, dusty, loose and at under 2m30secs for the quick guys all action from top to bottom.

2004 Maxxis UK Supermoto

The 2nd and 3rd rounds of the Maxxis 2004 UK Supermoto Series took place at Lydden Hill in Kent over the weekend. The weather was very kind apart from one shower on Saturday afternoon. The men’s 4X threw up a few suprises with Guido Tschugg taking the win. Anne-Caro got her weekend off to a winning start taking the ladies 4X.

The third round of the British Cycling National BMX series took place on Sunday the 30th May at the excellent Peterborough track under superb conditions. Aston Hill DH 2004 Round 3

The 3rd round of the Aston Hill Downhill season took place today on the Black Run. What did the most technical downhill course in the South have to offer? Finally the weather came up with the goods and the course was dry and running fast.

2004 Maxxis UK Supermoto

Why does it always rain on me? The Maxxis 2004 UK Supermoto Championship kicked off at Snetterton on Bank Holiday Monday. The weather couldn’t have been much worse, it was difficult to work out who got the worse deal the photographer, the brolly girls or the riders. Answers on a post card…

Photographs from the racing in SM250, Euro450, SM450 and SM650 are here.

Aston Hill DH 2004 Round 2

The 2nd round of the Aston Hill Downhill season took place today on the Ultimate Pursuits downhill course. With good weather in the week leading up to the event we where expecting a fast dry course but very heavy overnight rain put a layer of greasy mud over the entire course just to make things a little more difficult.

Photos from the racing are here.

Aston Hill DH 2004 Round 1

Mud Glorious Mud…The 1st round of this year’s Aston Hill Downhill races took place today in pretty tricky
conditions. In the dry the Red Run would have been fast and flowing with Ian Warby having made some superb modifications to the track. With heavy rain the day before the event the riders found something quite different.

Maxxis ACU Winter Supermoto 2004

Here comes the summer! The final round of the Maxxis ACU Winter Supermotard series took place at Lydden Hill on the 28th Feburary.
